British born, Jamaican gymnast Reiss Beckford has his eyes firmly set on leaving his mark in Jamaican and gymnastics history, attempting to become the first ever gymnast to represent Jamaica in the Olympic Games.

Beckford has previously competed for England and Great Britain, before announcing his decision to switch to Jamaica to increase his chances of qualifying for the Games in Rio in 2016. The Jamaican Olympic Association has given it's backing to Reiss, welcoming him in representing them in all future competitions. Beckford, who won three silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, also puts in time at the South Essex Gymnastics Club, where he hopes to inspire the next generation of athletes and promote the sport.
